The perfect stay. Positive: You’re spoilt for choice re; rentals in Amsterdam, but it’s hard to compare to Salon de Franz. You can’t ask for a better location. We had a stroopwaffel making experience, a visit to Anne Franks house and a canal boat tour - all within a 25 minute walk. Amsterdam is known for its architecture, in particular its narrow buildings and steep stairs - this accommodation is no different to any other typical Amsterdam accommodation. Negative: We had a small issue with the sore lock at check-in which was addressed and fixed immediately. The host even arranged a gift to apologise which was a very nice touch. The only personal feedback we would give would be the option of more available light. But by no means is this a negative.

A beautiful, unique apartment. Luxurious but not stuffy. Very responsive host. Positive: The apartment was unique and full of character. A real gem. Beautiful old building but very comfortable. The location was excellent - right in the heart of things, while also feeling tucked away and relaxing. Negative: We had a misunderstanding over facilities / expectations but the host sorted this out for us and ultimately provided excellent customer service so I have no complaints.

Positive: We felt like we were in the middle of a Dutch master painting. Truly a unique and beautiful experience Negative: The stairs are a bit treacherous

Eclectic stay in great location Positive: Great location in the center of the city. Everything is a 20 minute walk and trams and the metro are nearby. Eclectic place but really interesting with great hosts. Note no AC if you're there during a heat wave. And the stairs, as mentioned in other reviews, are steep up to the apartment and then again to the master bedroom. Negative: No blow dryer or AC (but that seems typical)
